PROFILE
Chiara Cappanera brings a lifelong passion for field hockey and a diverse background in playing, officiating, and coaching to her role as Assistant Coach at Duchesne Catholic School. Originally from Argentina, Chiara began playing field hockey at the age of six through her private school’s year-round athletics program. At age 12, she joined the renowned Lomas Athletic Club, where she trained extensively and competed at a high level until relocating to Houston at 16. Upon arriving in Houston, Chiara remained committed to the sport by participating in local adult leagues and practices with Houston Velocity. Her involvement soon expanded to officiating, where she gained valuable experience as an umpire for a full season. This broader perspective on the game inspired her to pursue coaching, and she began working with youth athletes at Houston Velocity. Drawing from her own years of competitive play and experience as an umpire, she brought a well-rounded understanding of the sport to her coaching. Her approach emphasizes both technical development and fostering a positive, inclusive team environment. Now at Duchesne, Chiara is excited to support the development of student-athletes both on and off the field, emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and a love for the game.
